A VOLUNTEER'S CONDUCT ON SITE

As stewards you are expected to act as ambassadors for The Nomad Cinema and as such we don’t allow the drinking of alcohol at any event. If you do wish to smoke, please consider others. We will allocate a suitable time and location for smokers.

As stewards you are responsible for the safety of the audience and we require you alert either the security team, the Event Producer or the Box Office Supervisor should you see anything that compromises the safety of the audience or your colleagues.

As stewards you will be expected to attend the briefing session held by the Box Office Supervisor who will allocate roles and responsibilities for the event. If you are unable to arrive at the start time, make sure you find the Box Office Supervisor when you do arrive.

SHIFT DATES AND TIMES

We absolutely understand that things may change after you've offered a date to volunteer with us. If your availability changes please let us know as soon as possible by logging back into this system to update your availability. If it is within 3 days of the event please also email volunteer@whereisthenomad.com, and you will also have a telephone contact number for your Box Office Supervisor. Even if something changes just one hour before the shift, we'd rather you contacted us to let us know. We won't shout. We promise.

FILM CLASSIFICATIONS

Contrary to what some people believe, the classification of a film in the UK is not just a recommendation, but must be enforced by law. Failure to do so can result in a fine and licences being revoked. In brief, the classifications are described below.

ANIMALS WHO LIKE FILMS?

We have a policy of no animals at any of our events (except for our Dog Friendly screening of Best In Show on Sept 3rd), out of consideration for the comfort and enjoyment of all our audience members. This is a policy set by us and not by each venue, so regardless of what people may think the venue allows, we won't be able to let any pets into our screenings (except Guide Dogs).

CAN PEOPLE BRING THEIR OWN SEATS?

Ticket holders are welcome to bring their own seats and chairs to most outdoor events [except Grosvenor Sq], but we may ask them to sit at the side or the back to avoid blocking other people’s view of the screen.


There is also seating provided at some venues as part of our Magic Carpet ticket offering and at some events deckchairs can be hired.

At our indoor venues such as The Lookout & The Hoxton Hotel, seating is always provided.
